CLASS MESSAGE

Art Valencia '68

Batch’68 congratulates the organizers of this website for the singular effort of bringing together MC alumni all over the world into a common forum—it’s the technological equivalent of a Grand School Reunion and Alumni Convention, without the problems of weather, traffic and aching joints.

Meycauayan College has completed eight decades of providing education to the community and one would imagine its constant burden of servicing the dreams of a bigger batch of students year after year. The role of the alumni, it seems to us, is to provide in creative ways sustained support for the school’s undertakings—in much the same way that elder siblings sponsor the schooling of younger ones in the family. In this area, Batch ’68 does its small share by granting MC scholarships to children of batch-mates in need.

We look forward to the day when this website, this first step in creating awareness of the school’s vision among MC graduates, will result in an MC Alumni Foundation—organized, funded and managed by alumni--- that will be the school’s partner in projects that help fulfill her mission to the town and the nation. And with some luck we can achieve this before our joints give up.

Batch ’68 extends its greetings to all alumni.

BATCH '68 HOLDS ANNUAL YULETIDE REUNION

More than 100 alumni from MI Batch '68 attended their traditional Yuletide Reunion held Friday, 9 December 2005, at Lita Manzano's garden at Saluysoy. The event started with a mass celebrated by Fr. Regino Asuncion, one of Batch '68's three alumni-priests. This was followed by dinner, dancing, group games, raffle of prizes and picture-taking by section, with Feddie Pilongo as master of ceremonies. Special awardees were alumni-couple Pacito Hipolito and Vangie Duque-Hipolito, for their outstanding continuing contribution to the success of the annual gathering. Special guest was former mentor Mrs. Dorina Guevarra-Pineda. Credit for the success of the event goes to the members of the organizing committee.composed of: Gary Mitiam (Chairman), Tessie Lunaria-Rivero, Imelda Llanillo-Go, Carmela Mitiam, Lita Manzano-Javier, Rudy Filoteo, Yoly Acero-Austria, Feddie Pilongo, Pat Camba-de la Cruz, Cora Raymundo, Belen Zuleta-Ruiz, Pacito and Vangie Duque-Hipolito, Nida Roxas-Serrano and Virginia Samson-de la Cruz.
