October 2007 "WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SAN DIEGO?" "Nasaan na si...?" As the countdown to the 1st batch reunion begins, the whereabouts of "the missing carabaos" of Batch 88 became a hot subject. Somehow, everytime a file was opened, it was also closed properly--meaning, people were tracked down successfully. No matter where they are; no matter how long they've been gone. You have to give it to Batch 88, the wherewithal is definitely there to find old friends and reconnect (and bring back that lovin' feeling? joke lang). Well, of course, Google helped a lot. Plus, coming from a diaspora nation, members of Batch 88 can now be found in every corner of the world. There is simply nowhere to hide (even for a certain Puto Bumbong). It's hard to believe we haven't managed to have a reunion all this time. It's even harder to believe that it has been 20 long years since we left MC. So many things have happened. We have all gone through a lot. But there will always be those four precious years we spent together in MC. Nobody can ever take that away from us. Once upon a time, we became a batch to remember. A batch with character but cool, by any reckoning. Those memories of high school are bittersweet, but ours was an especially intense chapter that molded us into what we are today--professionals, public servants, parents...or, simply, people who are striving to make a difference in this world in their own ways. We have a lot of catching up to do, people. Sabi nga sa "Alice in Wonderland": "The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--Of cabbages--and kings--And why the sea is boiling hot--And whether pigs have wings." Mula Sa Gitnang Silangan Mula sa super init (pag summer) at super lamig (pag winter) na panahon mula dito sa Gitnang Silangan ay aming langhap at dama ang napapalapit nating pagkikita-kita. Dama ang bawat kabog ng dibdib, ang hirap ng paghahanap sa ating mga ka-batchmates. Isang pagpupugay ang aming nais ipabatid sa lahat ng ka-batchmates natin na tumutulong upang maidaos ng matiwasay ang di malilimutang “Reunion” Bukod sa paghahanda sa ating Grand Reunion ay dumami din ang mga mini-reunion na matatawag kung saan nagkikita-kita ang magkaka-section upang magbalik-tanaw sa nakaraan. Ang lahat ay bukang bibig ang nalalapit na reunion, sino kaya ang una kong makikita, yayapusin ko ba ang crush ko dati (di kaya ako masapak ng asawa nya??) o baka naman matameme ako. Dumami na din ang nagbibilin ng pasalubong sa aking pag uwi…puro chocolates! At syempre, yung bilin ni batchmate down under…pulang alak!! Hehehe. Ang mga Pinoy nga naman kahit saan ay pupuntahan para lamang sa kinabukasan ng kanilang pamilya…………saan man sa mundo….at ang karamihan dun ay nagtapos sa MC kung saan tayo ay nabibilang (Batch ’88). Sa ating lahat, hangad ko ang tagumpay ng ating…REUNION. Hanggang sa muli….
CLASS MESSAGES MC Batch ‘88 Minutes of the Meeting
Date: March 31, 2007 Attendance: 1. Rolando Benedicto Agenda: 1. Elect/appoint the head of the following groups: · The group appointed Mr. Wilfredo Ramos as head of the logistics group, to be assisted by section Plaridel. · The group also appointed Mr. Orly Concepcion to head the program group. · Leonora Suertefelipe – Soriano was appointed as the secretary of the group. · Cocoy Conquilla submitted to Ms. Catalla (MC Principal) the letter stating the batch’s plan to hold a reunion on January 5, 2008 at MC Main.
2. Bank Account: · The group agreed to open a savings account in Metrobank. The signatories for the account are Mr. Cocoy Conquilla and/or Mr. Orly Concepcion.
3. Amount of Contribution · The amount of contribution is P500.00 per person. The amount covers the cost of the white t-shirt with collar. · Allan Grajo to design/create a receipt that will serve as confirmation of payment. · The payment maybe in full or installments. · The group also agreed to start the collection of payment next month. · The section/group coordinators will collect all payments and give them to Cocoy Conquilla for consolidation.
4. Update the list of section coordinators · Allan Grajo to print the lists containing names per section. The lists will be given to each coordinator on the next meeting. Section coordinators to update the lists every meeting. 5. Others · Winston Pandico will provide the LCD projector for the reunion. · No consensus was reached regarding the theme and title of the reunion. Theme will be tackled next meeting. A survey on which logo to use will be conducted in the group’s yahoo site. · The group will submit Cost Estimate from various caterers. · The group will also submit high school pictures next meeting. The pictures will be scanned and be included in the souvenir CD. · Dress code for the reunion is jeans and white t-shirt with collar.
6. Schedule of next meeting · Venue of the next meeting is at Noemi Donato’s Residence (378 Zigzag Hills, Malhacan, Meycauayan) on April 28, 2007 .
